Exosite Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary after Another Year of Strong Growth
Company marks a decade of global expansion after impressive increase in software-as-a-service revenue in 2018
MINNEAPOLIS – May 7, 2019 – Exosite, LLC, a leading provider in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market, today announced that it will celebrate its 10-year anniversary this week, having delivered off-the-shelf IoT software to customers for a decade. Founded in 2009, Exosite began as a small, enterprise software start-up with a big mission: to create software products that all organizations need to turn their “thing” into a “connected thing.” Now, with a rich product portfolio that includes the Murano® platform, Exchange IoT marketplace, and vertical IIoT solutions like ExoSense® and ExoHome®, Exosite has helped hundreds of industrial manufacturers overcome the complexities of IoT to increase their service revenues, sell more replacement parts and improve customer service.
This milestone comes on the heels of the company’s strong 2018 performance, in which it saw significant customer adoption of ExoSense, a ready-to-deploy condition monitoring application that provides operational insight into high-value industrial assets, systems and equipment. With the ExoSense launch in June 2018, Exosite’s annual software-as-a-service (SaaS) revenue increased by more than 100 percent, and the number of customer devices on its platform increased by 50 percent.
“The included features of ExoSense allow us to quickly deploy customer-defined mobile solutions across a diverse set of applications with no software development,” said Paul Ludwig, President and CEO of HED®, a leading manufacturer of electronic control solutions and an early customer of ExoSense. “Since engaging with Exosite in 2018, we’ve already deployed numerous unique, customer-specific environments using the highly configurable nature of ExoSense and are able to quickly refine them to exceed our customers’ solution needs and expectations.”
In addition to being a customer, HED is also a valued Exosite partner along with other edge device, communication, business system software, and solution providers in the Exosite IoT Alliance (EIA) partner program. The EIA is an ecosystem of like-minded companies and technology providers that is focused on providing off-the-shelf solutions that accelerate the overall adoption of IoT. Since the program’s inception in 2015, Exosite has nearly tripled the number of partners participating and continually recruits new members to address the ever-evolving needs of its industrial customer base.
Beyond strong customer and partner adoption, Exosite has also received national and regional accolades over the last decade, positioning the company as a major player and thought leader in the IoT space. A few examples include:
- Exosite achieved ISO 27001:2013 recertification in 2018.
- Gartner selected Exosite as a Cool Vendor in the Cool Vendors in the Internet of Things, 2017.
- The Star Tribune named Exosite a 2017 Top Workplace, which recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health and satisfaction.
- Forrester named Exosite one of the 11 most significant IoT platforms in its 2016 IoT Platform Wave Report and awarded Exosite its highest security rating.
- Juniper Research recognized Exosite’s EIA partner program as a key initiative fundamental to driving IoT market traction in its The Internet of Things: Consumer, Industrial & Public Services 2016-2021
- The Minnesota High Tech Association awarded Exosite the 2016 Tekne Award in IoT, which shines a spotlight on Minnesota’s science and technology community by honoring innovation.
“As I look back at the last 10 years, I’m proud of the smart, hardworking and compassionate individuals that make up the Exosite team, and I am incredibly appreciative of our loyal customers that have grown with us along the way,” said Hans Rempel, founder and CEO, Exosite. “Going forward, the IoT space will continue to mature, as will the overall needs of the industry and our customers. To meet those needs, we are focused on off-the-shelf vertical solutions that help accelerate our industrial customers’ time to market at a fraction of the cost of other solutions. It’s been an exciting journey so far, and I can’t wait to see where the next 10 years takes us!”
